MUQCS of the Historical Marine Data XMultiUser Quality Control System For Data Keyed Under The Viking Keying System. Project Goal: XTo transfer the 2nd level Q.C. function from the CLICOM System to a more efficient system.(either L.A.N. or Workstation) Applicable Directives: XDesign a more efficient and responsive system to accomplish what is currently being done on the Clicom System in addition to expanded requirements to be provided by N.C.D.C.. This list of specifications should improve the Q.C. function. Current System: XThe current system, Clicom Marine QC System, is a modified version of the land based Clicom System. List Problems: X1: The system is dependent on a local PC. This requires that all QC be done on same PC. X2: The QC Process is difficult, time consuming and in some cases the required changes can not be made. Large amounts of information must be entered to find and examine one form. X3: The data is not stored on the network. The network is backed up daily. If the local PC should fail, a large amount of work could be lost. To the contrary, if the data resided on the network only a days worth of QC Effort could be lost. X4: There are not enough software implimented precautions to garde against accidentally losing corrections and data. New System requirements:  XDisplay Requirements: The display should be similar to the current system. System Requirements: The QC Personal must use local PC's. XSpecial Requirements: The new system should solve the problems listed in the problem list section of this document. Special attention will be paid to making the system easy to use. Available Hardware and Software: There were two available platforms: X1: Empress(DBMS),Sun Workstation, Local PC's X2: FoxPro 2.0(DBMS), LAN, Local PC's Create concept design: Describe options: Select option. When a module is called, why a module is called, how a module is called. If the information is present then it is copied to the local drive and the batch in question is flagged as in use. The actual batch is examined to see if the appropriate changes have been if not they are. QC module is called  7 X3:` ` QC Module: This module is called by the traffic module. When the QC option is chosen and setup has been successfully completed.  7 X4:` ` Book Keeping Module: This module is called when you initially enter the MUQS or the qc process has not been completed or after the set up module has successfully completed the set up for a particular form type and batch. Production Phase: X1: Coding:Write the code(or variable list and instruction) for each main module, submodule function. X2: Testing: Sample data will be loaded and tested buy the QC Personal. 3: Maintenance: The maintenance of the system will start.
