Oral presentations
The time slot for all Contributed Oral presentations will be 20 minutes. This includes questions and changeover between speakers, so speakers should aim to speak for 15 minutes only. Invited presentations (as will later be indicated in the programme) are anticipated to be 25-minute slots and speakers should aim to speak for 20 minutes.
There will be a desktop PC (running MS Office 2007) and projector available, so please make presentations available in PowerPoint (ppt) format on a CD or memory stick. If alternative facilities are desired, please contact Agata.Wojtkiewicz@imgw.pl as soon as possible but no later than 18 April. If necessary, it will be possible to connect individual laptop computers to the projection facility (note: Poland uses 230V/50Hz 2-pin plugs, either European type C or French type E), however these special arrangements can slow down the meeting and should be avoided if at all possible.
If possible, electronic presentations should be e-mailed in advance of the workshop to Agata.Wojtkiewicz@imgw.pl. Presentations brought to the workshop will have to be virus checked before loading onto the system, so they must be surrendered sufficiently before the relevant session in order to achieve this. For this reason, e-mailing is preferable and we would appreciate receiving your presentation via this method, if practical.
Otherwise, electronic presentations brought to the workshop on CDs and memory sticks should be provided to a local organizer at the Registration Desk as far as possible in advance of the session at which they will be given (preferably at the time of initial meeting registration). There the ppt files will be checked for viruses, and then transferred electronically to the presentation PC. To avoid confusion, filenames should clearly reflect both the name of the presenting author, and session and presentation number information (to be provided with the programme).
Poster presentations
To be displayed, posters must not exceed A0 size in portrait mode, i.e., 1189mm (high) x 841mm (wide) = 46.8 x 33.1 inches (and A0 size is preferred). Each poster board will display at least two posters (one on the front, and one on the back; or potentially up to four smaller posters). If you are bringing a poster that you have created for another meeting and have any questions or concerns, please contact Agata.Wojtkiewicz@imgw.pl well prior to the meeting so that alternative arrangements may be made.
Staff at the IMGW will mount your poster for you. Due to the system that IMGW will use for mounting, it is very important to bring each poster as one piece, rather than several pieces of paper. Please bring your poster in on the first morning of the workshop and give it to a local organizer at the Reception Desk when registering for the workshop. If you have a poster tube, please label it clearly with your name to avoid later confusion.
